The village vet
Professionalism and love for animals go hand in hand.
Veterinário da Vila is the vet in Castanheira do Ribatejo, on the lezíria side of Vila Franca de Xira. For people who can only come after work, there is a second door in Vila Franca, open on weekday evenings.
Clients come from the village and from the towns around it, some from Alverca. They come back for the same reasons: a friendly word at the desk, vets who explain, and fair prices.
In the team's own words, written to a client: “We do what we love: looking after animals, giving them well-being, easing their suffering and, as far as we can, comforting their owners.”

Who you'll meet
Reviews never name names; they name the care. “From the vets to the assistants, we are always welcomed with a friendly word.”
Attentive and available to clear up any doubt. Two reviewers credit them with saving a kitten and a cat in a critical state.
Kind and helpful at the desk and on the table: the first hello and the towel after the bath.
263 098 114 rings at both doors. Call to book, to ask, or to know if you should come now.
Prices
We don't publish a price list: every animal is different. Ask before any treatment and you get the price before we start.
You know the cost of a consult, vaccine or procedure before it happens.
Call 263 098 114 for the price of a consult, vaccine or grooming.
If the plan changes, we tell you first.
“Great for the animals and for the wallet.”
